ABOUT THIS BODY OF WORK

“Milk”

“Milk,” “Words,” and “Projections,” tracks the artist’s exploration of his authentic self. In “Milk,” shot prior to coming out publicly as transgender, the artist examines the male form up close and personal, with great intention. In these images, the artist was able to examine masculinity as closely as he could without actually being able to embody it himself.

"Words"

"Words" is an assault that directly communicates what it is like to be locked away and longing for one’s true self to come forth. Now, out as transgender and one year into his physical transition, “Words” marks the first time the artist allowed his body to be seen by the camera.

“Projections”

If “Words” exposed the way others saw the artist, “Projections” exposes the way the artist sees himself. Taken in the final weeks leading up to his top-surgery, “Projections” attempts to express the anticipation of the metamorphosis happening under his skin.
